Getting started

What is AegisRoad?

AegisRoad is fleet management software that runs on the phone or tablet your drivers already carry — no hardware to buy or install. You get a live map of every vehicle, electronic driver vehicle inspections (DVIR), preventive maintenance tracking, driver scorecards, and trip history, all in one app. It's built for commercial fleets of all sizes.

Do I need to buy any hardware?

No. Tracking runs entirely on your drivers' phones or tablets, so you can be running today with nothing to wire into the truck. An optional plug-in OBD add-on for engine diagnostics is coming soon for fleets that want it — but it's never required.

How do I get started?

Start your 14-day trial from the signup page, add your vehicles, and invite your drivers. Each driver installs the AegisRoad app on iOS or Android and joins with their own login. Tracking begins automatically once they're set up.

How long does setup take?

Most fleets are live in a few minutes. Add a vehicle, send a driver invite, and you'll see them on the map as soon as they accept and start driving.

What phones and tablets does it work on?

Both iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android phones and tablets.

What it costs

Pricing & billing

How much does AegisRoad cost?

$12.99 per vehicle, per month — from your very first vehicle. Drivers are unlimited and free. One price, everything included: live tracking, DVIR, maintenance, scorecards, and reports. There are no tiers to compare.

Do I pay per driver?

No. You're billed per vehicle, never per driver. Add as many drivers as you like at no extra cost.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — 14 days. We ask for a card up front so your service continues without interruption when the trial ends, but you can cancel anytime before then and you won't be charged.

Is there a contract?

No contract and no commitment. It's month to month — cancel whenever you want.

Are there setup, activation, or SIM fees?

None. The price you see is the whole price.

What happens when I add a vehicle mid-month?

The vehicle is added to your plan right away, and you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period. From the next renewal on, it's the standard $12.99.

What happens when I remove a vehicle?

Tracking stops immediately and your bill drops at your next renewal. There's no refund for the current period, and the vehicle's inspection, trip, and maintenance records are kept in case you need them later. You can re-add a vehicle anytime.

What exactly counts as a billable vehicle?

An active vehicle with tracking turned on. Vehicles you deactivate aren't billed.

How do I cancel?

Cancel anytime from your account. There's no contract, so there's nothing to negotiate and no cancellation fee.

I'm a TDNetworkPro Team member — do I get a discount?

Yes. TDNetworkPro Team members get 3 vehicles included free on AegisRoad. Additional vehicles are billed at the standard $12.99 each.

Is AegisRoad tax deductible?

For most businesses, software used to run your operation is a deductible business expense — but every situation is different, so consult your tax professional about your specific circumstances.

On the road

How tracking works

How can you track without any hardware?

The AegisRoad app uses the GPS already built into your driver's phone or tablet. When a driver is on the road, their device reports location and speed to your live map — no box to install, nothing to wire into the truck.

As the owner, am I tracked?

No. When you log in as the owner or a manager, you see the live map and manage the fleet — your own phone isn't tracked. Only vehicles with an assigned driver report location.

When does tracking start?

Tracking begins on the driver's device once they've accepted their invite. From there it can start automatically when they leave your home base, or on the schedule you set — the driver doesn't have to remember to switch anything on.

Does the driver have to keep the app open?

No. Tracking runs in the background, so drivers use their phone normally. The app does need location permission set to "Always" so it can report while the truck is moving even when the screen is off.

What happens if a driver loses signal?

The app keeps working offline and stores what it captures. When the connection comes back, it syncs automatically — so you don't lose inspections or trip data in a dead zone.

Will it drain the driver's battery?

AegisRoad is built to sip power, not gulp it, and reports efficiently in the background. For long shifts, we recommend drivers keep a charging cable in the cab — the same as they would for navigation.

Your team

Drivers & privacy

How do drivers join?

You invite each driver by email or a share link from the Drivers screen. They install the app and create their own login — there are no shared passwords, and you stay in control of who's on your fleet.

Can drivers see each other's location or my billing?

No. Drivers see what they need for their own work. Fleet-wide views, billing, and settings are owner- and manager-only.

Is location tracking only during work?

Tracking is tied to the work vehicle and built around your operation — it reports while a driver is on the job and their vehicle is active. Drivers are told they'll be tracked when they accept the invite.

Do drivers pay anything?

Never. Drivers are always free and unlimited.

What's inside

Features

What's on the live map?

Every vehicle in real time — name, location, and speed — updating as your drivers move. The same map shows live weather with NEXRAD radar and real-time traffic, so you can see what's slowing the fleet down before it does.

Does AegisRoad do electronic inspections (DVIR)?

Yes. Drivers complete a full Driver Vehicle Inspection Report on their phone, built around the FMCSA inspection items in 49 CFR 396.11 and 396.13. Defects are tracked to resolution with a driver, mechanic, and next-driver signature chain, and any report exports to PDF.

Can I track maintenance?

Yes. Set up preventive maintenance schedules — oil, tires, filters, and more — and AegisRoad alerts you as each service comes due based on mileage. Document expiry alerts for registration, insurance, and inspections are included too.

What are driver scorecards?

A fair, mileage-normalized view of driving behavior — events per 100 miles rather than raw counts — so you can coach on real patterns instead of penalizing whoever drove the most.

Can I see where a vehicle has been?

Yes. Route playback lets you replay a vehicle's day, and stop and dwell analysis shows where trucks sat and for how long.

Can I print or export reports?

Yes. Inspections and service records export to PDF for your files, your customers, or an auditor.

The rules

Compliance & records

Is the DVIR FMCSA compliant?

The inspection is built around the federal DVIR requirements in 49 CFR 396.11 and 396.13, including the standard inspection items and the driver, mechanic, and next-driver signature chain. You're responsible for how your fleet uses it, but the tool is designed to capture the records the rules call for.

Is AegisRoad an ELD? Does it record Hours of Service?

No. AegisRoad is not an electronic logging device and does not record Hours of Service or driver logs (RODS). It's a tracking, inspection, and maintenance platform. If you're subject to the ELD mandate, you'll still need a separate compliant ELD alongside AegisRoad.

How long is my data kept?

Your inspections, maintenance history, and trip records stay with your account. Detailed minute-by-minute location breadcrumbs are retained on a rolling basis for recent history. If you have a specific retention requirement for your records, reach out and we'll walk you through it.

Coming soon

Hardware & OBD

Do I ever need an OBD device?

No — the phone-based tracking is the whole product. An optional plug-in OBD add-on is coming for fleets that also want engine diagnostics and fault codes.

What will the OBD add-on cost?

$19.99 per vehicle, per month, on top of your base plan, and only for the vehicles you add it to. It's optional and coming soon.

What will OBD add that a phone can't do?

Engine-level data straight from the vehicle: real odometer, diagnostic trouble codes, and engine diagnostics a phone alone can't read.

Your account

Account & data

Can I export my data?

Yes — inspections and reports export to PDF. If you need a broader export of your fleet data, contact us.

Who can see my fleet's data?

You and the managers you authorize. Drivers see only their own work. We don't sell your data.
